Whatever college sports teams you may support, I’m here to represent… I AM A TITAN, as in Cal State Fullerton Titans. In the 70’s, known as Cal State Who? They no longer suffer from an identity crisis having now won 4 NCAA Baseball Championships. So it’s fitting that a state of the art family sports complex – Lions Field (so named after the benefactor, the Lions Club) was built just about a mile away from the CSUF campus.
Nestled at the base of a ridge of foothills that separates the City of Fullerton from the City of
Brea, along Brea Boulevard, the new complex contains softball and baseball fields, along with a
football field complete with an electronic scoreboard. All of the fields are made of prescription
field turf in order to save on water and maintenance.
Two very unique custom Romtec restroom and concession buildings finish out the complex in
a stylistic, yet functional way. RL Ziegenbein Construction was the contractor who made it all
work. Ron utilized his vast experience as a general contractor and as a builder of Romtec facilities.
Joy Holt and Scott Walker of WEC Corporation, the general contractor for the project, were
up to the daunting task of completing this large project despite a very challenging timeline. On
August 2, 2010, the City of Fullerton held an impressive Grand Opening of the brand new Lions
Field Sports Complex right on schedule!
