Revit As A Sales Tool

Revit Architecture is tremendous for construction drawing creation, but it also shines as a sales tool.  It is a powerful piece of software that can be used anywhere from showing two dimensional views, renderings and walkthroughs of the building.  With the strength and versatility of Revit, Romtec is able to stay on the forefront of custom restroom design.

During the beginning of the sales process, customers do not always know what they want their finished project to look like – this is where Revit steps in.  A standard model of a building can quickly be changed using “design options” to show different siding packages, roofing options, colors, or even wall configurations without changing the original model.  Each of the options can then be visualized by standard two dimensional drawings or even three dimensional views, renderings, or movies simulating a walk through of the building.  The interior and exterior can be pictured with color and/or texture to see how it all ties together.  Night scenes can also be rendered to see where light does not reach for aesthetic or security reasons.  Preliminary estimates for each option can also be created within Revit to help the customer make their decision.  Read more

Romtec Revit and Architecture

Building design has come a long way from the old days of hand drafting.  A large improvement to time (and number of erasers) came with the introduction of computers, but they were only capable of duplicating the hand drafting process.  Modern computers allow for more sophisticated drawings and easier functions for the drafter including the use of three dimensional designs and building information modeling.  One such program, called Revit Architecture, has allowed Romtec to be on the cutting edge of public restroom and custom building design.
