What is dry-stack block and why would I want this on my building project? These are two great questions we answer here at Romtec. The dry-stack blocks are special concrete masonry units that are stacked together without a mortar joint. The masonry blocks are keyed to ensure that the wall aligns properly. The inner cell of the dry-stack block is then fully grouted to increase the structural integrity of the wall. In fact dry-stack masonry block compressive strength is the same as conventional masonry units. When you buy a Romtec building you get an 8 inch thick wall, compared to pre-fabricated or pre-cast walls which are typically 4 or 6 inches wide.
